OPRAH WINFREY IS SPECIAL GUEST ON OCEANS 13

Oceans 13 stars Elliott Gould and Andy Garcia talk about Oprah Winfrey’s cameo in the film.

Elliott Gould and Andy Garcia reprise their roles in Oceans 13 as Reuben Tishkoff and Terry Benedict, the casino owner who got stung by the Oceans crew in the first film and now becomes the gangs unlikely ally helping to take down Al Pacino.

When Terry tries to outsmart Danny Ocean the tables are turned and he becomes an unsuspecting beneficiary making a special donation on the Oprah Winfrey Show. Elliott Gould thought bringing in the talk show maven was a great idea thanks to producer Jerry Weintraub.

“I said to Jerry if you could produce what I’ve just now read, how can we miss? You’re gonna top it off with Terry Benedict going on the Oprah Winfrey show. Get out of here. That’s a guarantee to me.”

Andy Garcia says he was in character the whole time he was on Oprah.

“She was Oprah and I was Terry Benedict and that’s how we met. Actually the scene was unscripted and completely improvised basically. Being interviewed by Oprah as Terry Benedict. Elliott: It was just so funny.”

Oceans 13 opens Friday in theaters.
