NYPD KEEPS A CLOSE EYE ON HOT 97
Besides the latest in hip-hop and R&B, New York radio station Hot 97 will also become the home to new surveillance cameras. Police plan to install cameras in front of 395 Hudson St., the site of the station and several shootings. Brooklyn rapper Gravy was shot last week in front Hot 97 on the way to an interview. |
According a Hot 97 spokesman, “If the NYPD believes that installing a camera outside the building will ensure a more secure environment, then we are all for it.” |
The new surveillance camera is apart of a new $9 million plan to install 500 cameras in high-crime areas throughout the city. This will be the first set up in Manhattan The District Council of Carpenters, owners of 395 Hudson St., are scheduling to file eviction papers against the station. |
