NORBIT TAKES ON A THOUSAND FACES ON DVD

Norbit DVD shows how Eddie Murphy turned into the multiple characters he plays.

Norbit available on DVD June 5th was the result of the Murphy brothers Eddie and Charles collaborating on the script where Eddie takes on multiple roles as Norbit, his junk food eating wife Rasputia and Mr. Wong, his adopted father.

Eddie talks about the make-up process with master mold maker Rick Baker which took hours and hours.

“Rick made Coming To America with me years and years ago and I feel most comfortable with him working with him and I’m doing these characters. What he brings to it makes the whole characters come to life like real people. Charles: Eddie would explain that this is what the character to give off. This is what I want to be doing with the make-up and Rick Baker puts it together and it comes out. It’s a great team.”

Norbit stars Cuba Gooding Jr. and Terry Crews say the man of a thousand faces was unrecognizable on the set.

“He’s a pro. To become each one of these characters takes a number of hours day in and day out. The commitment is crazy. Cuba: The first day of filming Eddie walked on the set as an Asian guy and nobody knew it was him until he said, ‘It’s me, it’s Eddie Murphy.’ And they were like, ‘Oh!’”

Extras on the Norbit DVD include 14 deleted scenes, behind the scenes features of the make-up process, stunts, and a mock infommercial hosted by Marlon Wayans.
