NONA HENDRYX SAYS LABELLE REUNION WILL HAPPEN IN 2007
Nona Hendryx is a busy woman these days. The singer-songwriter recently appeared on several songs on the soundtrack of Showtime’s Sleeper Cell which was released on her label, Rhythmbank Entertainment. Hendryx continues to work on solo material but plans are in the works for her group, LaBelle, to reunite. Hendryx said, |
The group consists of Patti LaBelle, Hendryx and Sara Dash. They reunited last year for an appearance on UPN’s An All-Star Salute to Patti LaBelle: Live from Atlantis TV special and recorded a tribute to late civil rights activist Rosa Parks, titled “Dear Rosa.” |
“Patti has been saying you know for some time we’re going to get together and we’ve done a couple of things together. And each time it becomes like, ‘Oh we got to do this. Let’s do this, let’s do this.’ After Patti’s had been making all the announcements and then we said, ‘Okay let’s shoot for 2007.'” |
LaBelle’s hit, “Lady Marmalade,” was re-recorded by Missy Elliott, Pink, Christina Aguilera, and Lil Kim in 2001. |
