NINE BLACK ALPS SHOT DOWN WAITING IN THE RAIN
Nine Black Alps, having just completed a short run of North American tour dates and having finished up recording some tracks in Los Angeles for the bands follow up album to their smash debut release ‘The Back Door,’ sat down with us to talk about the bands hit single ‘Shot Down.’ In fact, lead singer Sam Forrest, admitted he wrote the song during his disdain for waiting for the bus in his home of Manchester UK. While everyone else drove by in the cars and motorcycles, Sam was frustrated by having to wait and he admitted that was the inspiration for ‘Shot Down.’ |
After receiving rave reviews for the bands recently completely opeing slot for Social Distortion in North America, the band has returned home to England to work on more new tracks in the studio. Look for the band to do some heavy touring of Europe to close out 2006 and Nine Black Alps hope to have the new album released in early 2007. (Pictured Sam Forrest photo courtesy Darren Sefton) |
“Just being really pissed off at people who could afford to drive to work because I had to get the bus. I just remember walking around Manchester waiting for the bus watching everybody driving past me and it was pissing down with rain and it was really how come some people are just lucky and they find the right path to their riches and glory and i’m still here just walking in the rain. It was really that thing of what’s the difference between them and me.” |
