NICKELBACK CHAD KROEGER TAKES FABER DRIVE
Nickelback vocalist and mastermind Chad Kroeger was forced to take a Faber Drive, with an October 9 destination. |
Faber Drive is set to release its debut album Seven Second Surgery on October 9 via Universal/Republic. The album was recorded in the studio of Nickelback singer/mastermind Chad Kroeger, and Faber and crew worked the Rockstar to get his attention. |
Faber Drive’s Faber and Red talk about how they hooked up with rock’s most successful songsmith. |
“Chad, we met him… Well we met him at the studio, and it was the same sort of thing. I was like, ‘Hey dude you have to come to one of out concerts. He’s like, ‘Faber, let me tell you something, I’m not going to come to one of your concerts until I hear a bit of a buzz about the band.’ So what happened was he started hearing some buzz about the band, and I talked to him again and again and finally — he’s the nicest guy in the world, but he’s super super busy always writing songs always doing things and he sees a lot of bands — so finally he came out. Also we got involved with him because of his producer Joey Moi is the same producer as our producer. So we got Joey’s attention first, and then we got Chad’s attention.” |
Faber added that Kroeger’s interest and eventual participation in Seven Second Surgery was the turning point of the album. |
“Getting Chad involved. Chad got involved maybe when we were about 3/4 done with the album. That’s when he stepped in because he started going, ‘Wow, these guys are getting good songs, and doing what’s right.” I had been bugging him since we met him. We met him maybe a year before we started the album. I was like, ‘Dude, we have to do some songwriting together,’ and then finally he started getting excited because he’s hearing the songs in the studio and I kept bugging him showing him the songs and popping his head in the studio. So he got involved, and I think maybe for me, that’s when I started to be like, ‘Maybe we’ve got something.'” |
Faber Drive’s album has already been released in Canada, and the album is full of pop rock hits including “Second Chance,” “Tongue Tied (Little Good Luck),” and “Sex And Love.” |
