NICKELBACK AWARDED FOR ROCKING THE POP FOR BMI
Nickelback took home several awards earlier this week at the BMI Pop Awards held in Los Angeles. |
Nickelback picked up two BMI Pop Awards this past Tuesday night (May 15) in Los Angeles, California. The band’s “Photograph” and “Saving Me” were recognized by the songwriting organization in a ceremony that honored the Bee Gees and saluted the best of their stable of writers. |
We caught up with Nickelback’s Chad Kroeger who talked about the tunes. |
“Well, ‘Photograph’ I’m really proud of. It’s one of the best song’s I’ve ever been a part of. That song just rings so true for me, and I think it rang true with a lot of other people, which contributed to the popularity of the song. As far as ‘Saving Me’ that was more like giving birth. That wasn’t the easiest process in the world. That was like six weeks of… I had never worked on a song for six weeks before. We kept re-recording the chorus. We just weren’t getting that spine-chilling, ‘There!’ but we wouldn’t give up on the song. Once it was finished and let it do what it did, it became something we’re all very proud of.” |
Nickelback is currently out on the road supporting their latest multi-platinum effort, All The Right Reasons. Kroeger and the boys have two singles out right now, the Dimebag Darrell tribute “Side Of A Bullet,” which is at rock stations, and “If Everyone Cared,” which is making headway at pop. Nickelback is making charitable donations for the latter single, and it has raised $500,000 for Amnesty International and International Children’s Awareness Canada. |
