NICK CANNON EXPLAINS WHY HIS LAST ALBUM FLOPPED
Nick Cannon’s self-titled 2003 debut album featured the hit, “Gigolo” featuring R. Kelly, but the album failed to make a substantial impact. Cannon, who has since left Jive Records, explained what he thinks went wrong. The rapper said, |
Cannon will release his new album, Stages, on his own Can I Ball Records label which is distributed by Universal-MoTown Records later this spring. |
“To me the issues that I had personally with the last album is it wasn’t me, you know what I mean? Like it was a great opportunity because I had the opportunity to work with everybody from Diddy to Pharrell to R. Kelly to Trackmasters to Mary J. Blige. It was a star-studded event, you know what I’m sayin, but I didn’t get a chance to get myself out on that record.” |
The album features guest appearances by Anthony Hamilton, Izzy, Boscoe, E-40, and Talib Kweli. |
