NIA LONG LIGHTENS UP
When we last left Nick Persons in Are We There Yet played by Ice Cube he was romancing Nia Long’s divorcee Suzanne Kingston with two kids. The sequel Are We Done Yet finds the couple married and pregnant with twins and the goal is to find more space to accommodate the growing Persons brood. |
Nia says despite the stress of the money pit they decide to settle down in, her character has lightened up since the last time. |
“And we find this beautiful old home that needs a little work and once we move in we realize that it’s falling apart at the seams. In the last one you saw her she was troubled, going through a divorce. Her ex-husband was playing games, ‘where are my kids, where are my kids.’ She was much more panicked and in this one you see her sort of resolved woman who’s like, ‘Ok, I’m pregnant, I’m married, I am not working. I’m a stay at home mom and this is my new life.’ And so with that you see a lighter part of her personality. She’s much more optimistic about things. She wants everything to be great but she’ll still tell you like it is. She’s not a fool.” |
Scrubs star John C. McGinley turns in a bizarre performance playing the contractor designing their dream home. Are We Done Yet opens Friday in theaters. |
