NEW PORNOGRAPERS TALK LOLLAPALOOZA

(VIDEO) The New Pornographers were one of a slew of bands playing Lollapalooza and they talked about their faves at the fest.

The New Pornographers were among a slew of bands set to play Lollapalooza. The festival, set for August 4 through August 6, booked a stellar line-up featuring Red Hot Chili Peppers, Raconteurs, and Kanye West among others.

As one might expect, The New Pornographers had their favorites on the bill.

[Newman] “There’s a lot of great bands playing. A lot of bands I want to see. The Shins, Flaming Lips, The M’s, Maids Of State…” [Collins] “Raconteurs, are they playing? I like them.” [Newman] “There’s actually a ton of bands.”

Meanwhile, The New Pornographers are up for Canada’s Polaris Music Prize, which is akin to the U.K.’s Mercury Music Prize. The award is $20,000, and it honors the best album on its creative merits irrespective of genre. The winner will be announced September 18.
