Singer songwriter Ne-Yo makes his big screen debut in the new movie, Stomp The Yard. The singer knows his limitations and he explained that he only took the role because it was more of a comedic role. Ne-Yo described the character that he plays in the movie. He said, |
Stomp The Yard hits theaters on Friday, January 12th. The film also stars Meagon Good, Chris Brown, Laz Alonso, Columbus Short, Darrin Henson, and Valerie Pettiford. |
“He’s the type of guy that when he enters the room, you know he’s in the room cause he’s gonna let everybody in the room know that he’s entered the room. He’s that guy. And it’s actually really good that they gave me this type of character to play because I’m not really an actor. Like I’m an R&B singer. So if they would have given me a more serious character to play, it might not have been such a good situation. So you know it’s a silly character. I’m kind of sorta the comedy relief for the film.” |
Ne-Yo, who just completed the Scream 5 Tour last month with Omarion and Yung Joc, is back in the studio working on the follow-up to his platinum debut, In My Own Words. He’s hoping to release the as yet untitled album this spring. |
Ne-Yo has also been busy in the studio crafting hits for others. His latest chart topper is Beyonce’s “Irreplaceable,” which is currently enjoying its fifth week at Number One on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart. |
