NBC DEALS POKER AFTER DARK
NBC offers a fix for poker loving insomniacs with new series Poker After Dark. |
Those New Year’s resolutions to stop gambling can be satisfied with NBC’s new series Poker After Dark debuting tonight at 2:05 AM. Great for insomniacs, the show features six poker professionals vying for the $120,000 grand prize. |
The series is hosted by former World Poker Tour host Shana Hiatt. She says Poker After Dark is set in various back rooms of casinos on the Las Vegas strip which is not always privy to outsiders, let alone a television audience. |
“It’s the first time we’ve had poker on late night like this but Poker After Dark is an interesting idea. Six nights Monday through Friday you watch a table as it progresses. So you’re seeing so many more of the key hands instead of ones they like to pick out for TV and you’re able to follow these players through most of their hands all week.” |
In Poker After Dark only one person can win but they have to come up with a substantial amount of cash to qualify for a spot at the table. |
“In this show they buy in for $20,000. All six players are automatically at a final table, that feeling of a final table and one winner will walk away with all the money rather than the pot being split up among the six players.” |
And if you’re still awake after watching Saturday Night Live, Poker After Dark has the director’s cut with interviews from the players where you can get an insight into their game. |
