Nas hooks up with Chris Robinson for new video which features a cameo from Natalie Cole. |
Nas recently hooked up with video director Chris Robinson, who directed his “One Mic” and “I Can” videos in the past, to shoot a clip for his new single, “Can’t Forget About You” featuring Chrisette Michele. The video was shot in New York City and featured a cameo from Natalie Cole. The singer recorded a version of the song, “Unforgettable,” with her late father Nat King Cole with a little help from today’s technology and “Can’t Forget About You” features a sample from the classic. |
Black Eyed Peas front man Will.I.Am shared that he produced both of Nas’ latest singles in the same day. He said, |
“I did the a ‘Can’t Forget About You’ and ‘Hip Hop Is Dead’ in the same day. After I did ‘Hip Hop Is Dead’ and I played it for Nas over the telephone and he signed off that he wanted to do that. I then went on stage. We were in Pittsburgh, that’s right. We were in Pittsburgh, not Philly. What Pittsburgh University, yeah we had a show at that arena there and right after stage I did ‘Can’t Forget About You’ and played it for him over the phone. He wanted to flip that as well.” |
Nas’ latest album, Hip Hop Is Dead, has sold over 500,000 copies in the three weeks that it has been in stores. The rapper is currently working on a new project which he plans to release this year. |
