MYA HOOKS UP WITH LIL WAYNE

Mya hooks up with Lil Wayne for new Scott Storch-produced single from her forthcoming album Liberation…..

R&B singer Mya recently released a new single, “Lock U Down” featuring Lil Wayne, from her forthcoming album, Liberation. The new album, which is Mya’s first since leaving Interscope Records for Universal Motown, is due out on June 26th.

The new single was produced by Scott Storch who has created hits for Mary J. Blige, Chamillioniare, Dr. Dre, Jay-Z, Snoop Dogg, Fat Joe, and others in the past. The new project also features production from Kwame and a guest appearance by The Game on “I Got That.”

“Well you know my last album came out in 2003 a lot in my personal life such as relationships and boyfriends, family, drama, patching things up, business transitions. All kinds of things have occurred and you’ll get to I think experience the difference of how I handled situations before. My second album was called, Fear of Flying. Right now I have no fears. I have nothing to lose. I move forward with grace and with confidence. And whatever happens at the end of the day, I’m willing to accept. And I think before my stance was well everything has to be perfect for it to work and that’s not true. I’ve learned as a woman that sometimes imperfection is the best.”

In addition to the label switch, Mya relocated back to her hometown of Washington, DC, after spending several years in Los Angeles. The singer shared that the move was just one of many things that have changed in her life. She said,

Mya, who has appeared in Chicago, Havana Nights and Shall We Dance, is currently shooting a new movie, Cover, with director Bill Duke.
