MULTIPLE GRAMMY NOMINATIONS A BIG DEAL FOR LEDISI

On the strength of her hit album ‘Lost and Found,’ Ledisi discusses her two Grammy Nominations for Best R and B Album and Best New Artist.

On the strength of her hit album ‘Lost and Found,’ rising R&B vocal talent Ledisi was nominated for not one, but two Grammy Awards in the 2008 ceremony. With one nomination for Best New Artist and another for Best R&B Album, Ledisi is a major talent who will sure to be bringing her soulful blend of music for years to come.

We caught up with Ledisi at The Grammy Style Studio just days before The Grammy Awards to find out if any nomination was more meaningful than the other.

“No. No. I think just being here is big deal for me. There was a point where I wasn’t sure if I was going to come back in the business, so to be able to finish a record was a big deal. And then to recieve one, not just one but two nominations is amazing. Amazing! Each one of them matter.”

For Best New Artist Ledisi will be going against Feist, Amy Winehouse, Taylor Swift and Paramore. For Best R&B Album Ledisi looks to beat out Chaka Khan, Musiq Soulchild, Jill Scott and Tank. The 50th Annual Grammy Awards, which will air on CBS, takes place Feb 10th from The Staples Center in Los Angeles, Ca.
