MUDVAYNE PEOPLE SECOND HIGHEST BILLBOARD DEBUT
Mudvayne’s b-sides and rarities album, By The People For The People, has debuted at the Number 51, which is the second highest debut on the Billboard 200 album chart this week. The collection was fan chosen and fan created through the band’s website, Mudvayne.com. It features 16 tracks including a new song “Dull Boy” and a cover of “King Of Pain” originally by The Police. |
Mudvayne is also planning their next album for mid 2008, and guitarist Chad Gray said that it will be the next chapter in the band’s continuing conversation with fans. |
“You know as with every record we’ve done, based off… These records are fleshed out conversations that we’ve had from seven or eight year ago. We had several conversations of what we’d like to do, and we just put that away. So the next couple of records are, probably in essence, already written.” |
Gray talked about the ideas snowballing from their initial album LD 50. |
“You gotta start fleshing the ideas out so the best way to get on your feet is to get off your ass. You just gotta get started, you know what I’m saying? That’s the best thing you can do is start. It was really weird to try and start fleshing out the ideas. It’s the snowball effect. Once you place the rock down and give it a push, or whatever, everything else just happens naturally.” |
Mudvayne’s Chad Gray and Greg Tribett are currently touring as a main part of ex-Pantera Vinnie Paul’s new band Hellyeah. Mudvayne has sold 4.5 million albums worldwide. A complete track listing for By The People For the People can be found at Mudvayne website. |
