MTV AWARDS BATMAN AND THE JOKER
The MTV Movie Awards gave Best Hero to Christian Bale for his portrayal of the caped crusader in Batman Begins. Christian almost didn’t take the part for fear that the bat suit would be too revealing. In his acceptance speech he gave credit to director Christopher Nolan for taking care of the wardrobe. |
Christian also thanked some of his own personal heroes and heroines. |
“Well thank you very much for this. I consider myself a very lucky bastard to be working in movies at all so to get an award is very much appreciated. Thank you. I want to thank Chris Nolan who directed Batman Begins. I want to thank him for getting rid of those bloody nipples and for giving a dark knight back some dignity. To Warner Brothers and to DC for backing us on our endeavor and obviously to Bob Kane who created this most bad ass of superheroes back in 1939.” |
From Batman to the joker, the waxing scene where Steve Carrell really gets his chest hair ripped off is award winning on it’s own which is why the 40 year old Virgin star won for best comedic performance with stiff competition from Vince Vaughn, Owen Wilson, Adam Sandler and Tyler Perry. Steve had a few people to thank finally giving a shout out to the former American Idol winner whose name he screamed out during the chest waxing scene. |
“My hero my father who I miss very much. The heroines in my life, my mother, my sisters, my lovely wife who is my own personal wonder woman. And let me tell you, you can achieve so much when you got someone like her standing next to you.” |
The 2006 MTV Movie Awards airs tonight at 9PM.rn |
“This is very exciting. I have a few people to thank so I wrote them down so I wouldn’t forget anyone. First of all I’d like to thank Eli Whitney for inventing the cotton gin. Without him this outfit would’ve taken years to make. Thank you George Forman. It would be really hard because your grill always manages to seal in the juices. Thank you to Gandhi and the Dalai Lama. If I had any familiarity with your teachings I would not be the person that I am today. My stylist Debra, Abraham Lincoln, Katie Couric for giving me fifteen years of sunshiny mornings and finally a woman who I would not be here today without Kelly Clarkson!”rn |
