MR LORDI HEADS TOWARDS NORTH POLE FOR CHRISTMAS

Mr Lordi from the hard rock band Lordi is making his way to the arctic circle this Christmas, but not exactly to find Saint Nick.

Lordi cemented their place as perhaps one of hard rock/heavy metal’s favorite imports from Finland this year, and they attained their first TV show appearance on Conan O’Brien this fall as well. The band was touring in support of their latest album, Deadache, and the costumed musical marauders are currently enjoying a needed break after a worldwide tour stint.

Mr. Lordi, the mastermind behind the group, talks about his Christmas plans.

“For me this is really boring, actually. I’m going to my cabin, which is in the Arctic Circle in Finnish Lapland in the real north, and I’m going there with my wife and my dogs and just watching DVDs. All the movies that I’ve missed throughout the year have already come out on DVD. So, I’m just sitting, watching DVDs, and getting fatter. That’s what I do.”

Lordi is set for a run of Festivals this spring, and they’ll make another run of the United States in the fall of 2009.
