Motley Crue are set to release ‘Saints of Los Angeles’ and Vince Neil talks about the album being inspired by the bands book and upcoming movie ‘The Dirt’ |
Motley Crue are set to release their upcoming album, ‘Saints of Los Angeles’ and it will be the band’s first record with the original lineup since 1997’s ‘Generation Swine.’ ‘Saints of Los Angeles,’ which will be released on June 17th is inspired by stories and passages in the bands best selling book ‘The Dirt’ and follows in the direction of bassist Nikki Sixx’s book ‘The Heroin Diaries’ and it’s subsequent soundtrack with his band Sixx A.M. The first single will be the title track ‘Saints of Los Angeles’ and the song is also available for download via the video game Rock Band, which is available on both the Xbox Live Marketplace and PlayStation Store. |
At the press conference announcing Motley Crue’s upcoming tour dubbed Cruefest, Vince Neil talked about the inspiration for the album and how it’s been worth the wait getting together in the studio again with the original Crue. |
“It represents us. It’s Motley Crue. It’s growing up in Los Angeles. The sights, sounds and smells of Los Angeles. It was the first record in about 10 years we put out together, a real studio album, and it’s really worth the wait. The songs are amazing. These stories are amazing. The songs are based on stories in ‘The Dirt’ so you can actually kind of read the lyrics and go ‘Oh I know when they screwed that one up.’ So it’s a great album. It’s all Rock N Roll. Can’t wait to get out and play the whole thing for you.” |
Motley Crue also announced their first ever Cruefest tour which will also include Buckcherry, Papa Roach, Sixx A.M. and Trapt. Cruefest dates kick off July 1 in West Palm Beach, Florida and extends until August 31, wrapping up in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Although nothing confirmed, the band does have thoughts of taking the tour overseas after the summer. Motley Crue are also currently in pre production on their upcoming movie ‘The Dirt’ and although the band plans to have it completed in 2009, nothing is set in stone. Stay tuned for more details. |
