MOP HAS A POINT TO PROVE WITH NEW ALBUM
M.O.P. released an independent album in October titled, The St. Marxsmen, but the set did little to wet the appetite of fans who have been waiting for the group to release an official studio album. The group’s last official release was 2000’s Warriorz which was released on Loud Records. After Loud Records folded the group’s contract was picked up by Columbia Records but Dame Dash and Roc-A-Fella Records bought the rghts to the group in 2002. Unfortunately the group wasn’t able to release an album before Dash and Jay- Z went their separate ways. |
Earlier this year, they were picked up by 50 Cent and fans have been anxiously awaiting a new album. The group’s Billy Danzine explained that it’s really all about hitting the stage. He said, |
“You know we don’t like aim our music. When you hear our music, all we want to do duke is get on stage yo, get on the stage and enjoy ourselves because we been through so much s**t like just coming up. You know what I’m sayin’? Just coming up, just living period, f**k the beef, f**k all that, just living day to day, that s**t is so hard to do.” |
M.O.P.’s G-Unit debut is scheduled for a summer 2006 release. |
