MOORE IDOLIZES COOLIDGE’S COMEDY

Mandy Moore stars in American Dreamz as a small town girl with huge plans of becoming America’s next pop idol. Jennifer Coolidge best known as Stifler’s mom in American Pie plays her excitable stage mother. Mandy says she was constantly flubbing her lines with Coolidge’s comic takes.

American Dreamz also stars Hugh Grant as the snooty Cowellesque host, Chris Klein is Moore’s lovesick boyfriend, and Dennis Quaid has a terrific comic turn as the president who judges the final competition.rn

“I can’t do a scene with Jennifer Coolidge. I don’t know how it started but when you start laughing at something or at someone. It’s never happened to me before but I just can’t be in the same room with her without laughing. And it’s not her. There’s something about her. She’s so wonderful and so genius at what she does that as soon as she speaks sometimes I feel so unprofessional. One day we kept doing the same scene over and over again. It was one of those things where I hadn’t worked all day and I had one line and I couldn’t get the line. I was so mad at myself. Mandy, you have to get yourself together! But I love working with her. She is just such an amazing comedian.”
