MISSY ELLIOTT IS STILL ON ATLANTIC RECORDS

A rumor had been circulating that Atlantic Records dropped Missy Elliott but on Thursday (October 27th) the label issued a statement which read, “There is absolutely no truth to the rumor that Missy Elliott has been dropped from the Atlantic Records roster. She is an icon, a pioneering artist of extraordinary vision and immense talent. We have the greatest respect and love for Missy, and she remains a cornerstone of this company.”

While Elliott may still be on Atlantic Records, the singer can’t be happy as her latest album, the Cookbook, is working its way down the charts. The set has sold approximately 545,000 copies since it was released four months ago but it isn’t on pace to earn a highly coveted platinum certification.
