MISSION IMPOSSIBLE III DOUBLE DVD RELEASE
Mission Impossible III is the first movie to be released simultaneously on standard DVD and high definition optical disc formats. The two disc special collector’s edition DVD and HD-DVD will be loaded with special features including five deleted scenes, hidden special features, and four making of the film documentaries. Tom was unflinching when it came to signing on the creator of Lost and Alias, and wouldn’t make the picture without him on board as the director. |
The HD-DVD release will also include an enhanced commentary from director J.J. Abrams and Tom Cruise that will show them talking in a corner of the screen as the movie plays. Returning as super spy Ethan Hunt Tom says this Mission Impossible was a bit heavier on the drama than previous missions. |
“Well it’s totally unique. This is J.J. Abrams Mission Impossible. When J.J. came on I said there’s no constraints. I want to know what you want to do with this. I want to work with you. I believe in you as a filmmaker.” |
Also included in the special collector’s edition Mission Impossible III DVD now currently available in stores is a Moviefone unscripted segment where JJ and Tom answer questions from fans. |
“My intention and my hope is always to have a more personal aspect to the picture. Action is fine, action was actually the last thing we talked about with Mission Impossible. It’s not the first thing. We didn’t talk about action sequences. We actually made an agreement not to discuss any action sequences at all until we nailed the story.” |
