Houston-based rapper Mike Jones recently a new single, “Mr. Jones.” The song is the lead single from his forthcoming sophomore album, American Dream. The rapper is also working on an autobiographical movie also titled, American Dream, which will detail his rise through the underground Houston rap scene.

Jones’ rise has been well documented as he was the first artost to put his cell phone number on t-shirts. He also was able to market his music by going to the strib clubs and making custom songs for dances.

“So she was like, ‘This guy Mike Jones, you know and?’ I had heard of him and I liked the kind of rap that he was putting down. But most definitely I liked his work ethic. You know he wanted to go to the studio all the time, you know? He was just willing to do anything and everything there was to make it happen you know what I’m sayin’?”

Swishahouse Records A&R T. Farris discovered Jones through a stripper. He explained,
