MIINISTRY STILL HAUNTED BY DECEASED BASSIST RAVEN?
After releasing the bands double DVD “Adios Puta Madres” Ministry talk about still be haunted by bassist Raven during their final tour |
Ministry have officially released a DVD from their final tour together in what possibly might be their final project together as Al Jourgensen and the band have decided to call it quits after 27 successful years together bringing their intense blend of industrial metal to their fans. Ministry found mainstream success in the early 1990’s and continued to build on their extensive fan base up until their final tour together, which was 2008’s C U La Tour. For the just released DVD “Adios Puta Madres”, Ministry collected live performances, back stage footage, rehearsal footage and put together a 45 min documentary which follows the band all the way to the end of their final tour together. Although former bassist, Paul Raven passed away from in 2007, the band continued to feel his presence throughout the tour and during filming of the documentary. |
Artisan News caught up with Al Jourgensen and guitarist Tommy Victor to get their thoughts on Raven haunting the bands tour bus and throughout the C U La Tour. |
“I wish he’d get out of my house, the guy’s every where. He haunted our bus the whole tour. Yeah, he threw a Tequila bottle at Tommy’s head. I’m not kidding. Just out of the blue the Tequila bottle is there on the couch and then whew!” “(Victor) No, but he pushed me down the stairs.” “(Jorgensen) He pushed him down the stairs! He’s everywhere. He’s got to go to the next plain and leave us alone. I’m begging you Raven. Please, enough! Go away!” |
Raven died of an apparent heart attack in his sleep on October 20, 2007 while recording in Geneva, Switzerland and at the time of his death, he was recording with Treponem Pal on their new album, and on Mob Research’s debut album, Holy City Zoo. To this day Raven’s loss is still felt by his family and friends as they try to make sense of another Rock n Roll life cut short. |
