MICHAEL DOUGLAS ALMOST PICKED UP KATE HUDSON

How can you blame Michael Douglas for paying attention to a beautiful blonde who approaches him at a night club, except when she happens to be the young daughter of Goldie Hawn. Michael says he almost humiliated himself by his initial flirtation with Kate Hudson.

Michael and Kate have something in common as they are both second generation actors to movie star parents. Michael of course is Kirk Douglas’ son and Kate has followed in her mother’s footsteps.

“I almost really embarrassed myself years ago at this club in New York when this really attractive blonde started walking towards me in a really tight dress, coming walking towards me with this great smile. I went, ‘Hi.’ She looked at me, ‘Michael? It’s Katie.’ I felt like a terrible jerk. I said, ‘Oh hi Katie, how are you. Good to see you. How’s your mom?’ So everybody grows up but she’s turned into a wonderful actress with a great range and a great joy of life, reminds me of her mom a lot.”

“It’s great to see them; sometimes they’re like sisters rather than mother and daughter together. They have a bond. It’s a continuation. At my time there was a point in my life where there were not a lot of second generation kids that were successful. And now there are, more and more. It’s great to see how she’s picked up and absorbed all the best from her mom and created her own identity. She’s a joy and anybody would be proud to have her as their daughter. I certainly was on the film.”
