MICHAEL CERA COULD BE DAD IN JUNO

Superbad star Michael Cera impregnates his teenage girlfriend in Juno.

Superbad star Michael Cera knocks up Ellen Page’s teenager in Juno, the coming of age film that talks about teenagers with a new found maturity. For the first time a film gives teens a voice that isn’t just about what clothes they are wearing or what band they’re listening to.

In most teen flicks pregnancy would be the end of young love but not so in Juno.

“Juno being pregnant kind of helps Bleeker and Juno’s relationship just because she kind of tells him she can’t really deal with it right now and she has to take care of being pregnant and all the crazy stuff that’s happening. He’s kind of obviously blown away by all this stuff and overwhelmed but more concerned with what’s gonna happen between him and Juno with all this coming up and I think he’s terrified first about the baby and then a little relieved when he finds out she’s gonna give it away and then his main concern is just maintaining their friendship and hopefully making her his girlfriend again by the end.”

Michael was impressed by the unique voice of writer Diablo Cody.

“You kind of just read the script and be just as satisfied as after seeing the movie. They could just film someone holding the script up to the camera. It’s really well written, yeah. I haven’t read Diablo’s book but she’s got such a great voice. You really understand it exactly how she talks just by reading it and then you meet her and she’s exactly how you want her to be. She’s just really cool.”

Michael is currently filming another teen flick, Nick and Nora’s Infinite Playlist about a couple who fall in love at a punk rock concert.
