MELISSA GEORGE GETS SQUISHED IN CAR STUNT

Melissa George had a smashing experience filming a car stunt scene in 30 Days Of Night.

Getting chased by a mutant strain of flesh eating vampires is risky business. In 30 Days of Night Melissa George and Josh Hartnett play an estranged couple who come together to fight the creatures who threaten their sleepy town of Barrow, Alaska which is locked down for a month without sunlight.

Melissa remembers the scene where they escape into a jeep that is turned over by the blood thirsty demons.

“Well the car was put on a wheel that sort of turns it over. What’s the name of that thing? I mentioned it all day but I forget the name. And we were in the car and we had a harness on our back and the car just flipped up on it’s nose and then smashed on the roof and then sort of caved in a little too much and we got quite squashed in the car and we were upside down and I remember looking at Josh saying, ‘are you OK?’”

Getting squished wasn’t the only problem on the set. They were shooting in New Zealand which was experiencing a very cold winter.

“It was freezing in the exterior scenes but in the interior scenes it was inside an equestrian center with Epsom salts and lots of lights. It was actually too hot so we had to act all the time.”

30 Days of Night is currently playing in theaters.
