MATTHEW FOX GETS LOST IN WE ARE MARSHALL

Matthew Fox, star of the popular TV series Lost, got his first taste of the major motion picture world, and he talks about the experience.

Matthew Fox stars as the amiable Jack Shepherd in the hit ABC series Lost, but he’s recently starring as Red Dawson, a recruiter for the Marshall football program in the new movie We are Marshall.

Fox discussed his first film role.

“I can’t say enough about it. To have this be my first big studio experience out of the gate at this time in my life I could not have ever dreamed about having an experience as good as this. I’ve been joking with some of the people I’d been working with on this that it’s all downhill from here. It was that good.”

He said that it was special filming We Are Marshall, but it was even more special seeing how well the finished product came out.

“You know it had a special feeling from the very beginning for me and that just continued to grow. Now to have seen the film and have it be what it is I couldn’t be prouder and feel like on everybody’s part that it was a job well done. All you can hope for when you go in is that ultimately the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. It’s a very collaborative thing that we do, trying to put together a story. This experience worked in that respect so beautifully.”

Fox’s next film role will be in the movie Vantage Pont, which is slated for an October 5, 2007 release. You can see him as Jack once again on the new season of Lost, which starts February 7.
