MASTODON SET TO TOUR WITH METALLICA AND CRACK THE SKYE
Mastodon has already lined up tour dates with Metallica and named their new album, Crack The Skye, with both coming in 2009. |
Mastodon is set to hit the road with Metallica in Europe next year in June doing a run of European Festival dates. The band has also named their forthcoming 2009 release. Crack The Skye, the follow-up to Blood Mountain was produced by Brendan O’Brien, who has produced Pearl Jam, Rage Against The Machine and Bruce Springsteen among others. |
Drummer Brann Dailor said that with O’Brien at the helm, Mastodon has made what he feels is their best record to date. |
“It’s just a good vibe, and a great guy, had a lot of great ideas, and we just really worked really well together. He totally got us and understood where we needed to go. He understood the record, where we were as a band and the record we neede to make and that’s the record we made. So everybody’s super excited about it. I’ve never been this confident in a record that we made, so I really feel that no matter what happens it, no matter if everyone hates it or whatever. I don’t care. The thing for us always is that we’re totally satisfied, and we think we’ve made something phenomenal so that’s it.” |
