MASTER P AND SILKK THE SHOCKER PLEAD NO CONTEST
Hip hop mogul Master P and his younger brother, Silkk The Shocker, both entered pleas of no contest to weapons possession charges in Los Angeles on Monday, March 13th. Through an agreement with prosecutor’s the brothers were able to avoid jail time but ordered to pay $700 each and to perform 40 hours of community service. Silkk was also placed on three years supervised probation. |
The two brothers were arrested in January of 2005 after police officers in Los Angeles discovered two loaded handguns in their car during a traffic stop on the University of California campus. Police initially pulled over the brothers because the leased Chrysler 300 they were driving did not have any license plates. |
“I mean you got to get out and branch off into other avenues. I mean besides this you got to take the music and open up a business for yourself because once you’re famous you have to open up other avenues so that financially you could be alright. So I think artists only get caught up in just the record, having a hit song. I think a hit song might last a year or two, then it’s over.” |
Master P and Silkk The Shocker could have receive up to three years behind bars if found guilty at trial. |
