Mary J. Blige may become the next musician to add acting to her resume. The singer revealed to MTV that a script is being written about the late vocalist Nina Simone in which she is supposed to star.

Blige, who dropped her seventh album last December, noticed similarities between her and Simone.

“The things we have in common is that we both move people, we’re about truth, we stand up for what we believe and we have morals at the end of the day,” said Blige. “Her husband was managing her, and my husband manages me, and we’re people that are not afraid to walk through the fire.”

There is no word as to when production will begin on the yet to be titled flick.
