Grammy Award singer Mary J. Blige and her label Geffen Records recently made a wise decision. The singer’s greatest hits set was initially scheduled for a December release but at the eleventh hour the set was replaced by a new album. Blige explained the decision. She said, |

“We decided to release The Breakthrough instead of the greatest hits package because the record company felt it was more urgent, the album material, was more urgent then a greatest hits any day. And when they heard the material, they were very pleased with it and they said, ‘Let’s go with this.'” |
The album’s first single is “Be Without You.” Terrence Howard, who starred in Hustle & Flow, plays Blige’s love interest in the song’s video. |
