MAROON 5 TOP ITUNES ALBUM OF 2007, A WAKE UP CALL?
Maroon 5’s It Won’t be Soon Before Long is the Number One album of 2007 according to iTunes. |
Maroon 5’s It Won’t Be Soon Before Long was the top album for download in 2007 according to iTunes. Rounding out the Top 5 in order from top to bottom were; Amy Winehouse ‘Back To Black,’ Kanye West ‘Graduation,’ Daughtry ‘Daughtry,’ and Colbie Caillat ‘Coco.’ |
We asked Maroon 5 singer Adam Levine if he paid attention to the charts and album sales. |
“I follow them in the beginning because I get excited and nervous and all that energy. So I like to look at the beginning. I’ve already lost track and plan on losing track more and more as time goes on because really it’s not something to fixate on, I don’t think.” |
It Won’t Be Soon Before Long saw Maroon 5 spread its creative wings as singer Adam Levine depicted a murder in the song ‘Wake Up Call.’ |
“I wrote a song about killing somebody because I thought it was pretty interesting actually to explore what it would be like to get so angry catching your woman or your wife or whoever it may be sleeping with another man. I just thought that was a really fascinating thing, one of the really primitive things that happen. I’m relatively composed and civilized, so I don’t think I could ever do that. I don’t think I have that streak in me, but I wrote this weird song, and it made for a great video. I just wanted to step outside my own character for a little bit.” |
Meanwhile there’s a new version of ‘Wake Up Call’ featuring Mark Ronson and Mary J. Blige. Also on iTunes is a special cover of John Lennon’s “Happy Xmas (War Is Over)”. Maroon 5 were also nominated for two Grammys for the 50th Annual Awards ceremony to be held February 10 in Los Angeles. |
