MAROON 5 READYING NEW ALBUM UNDER PRESSURE
(VIDEO) Maroon 5 is in the process of working on their next album, but singer Adam Levine says there’s a lot of pressure… here! |
Maroon 5 is wrapping up work on their next album, the follow-up to the hugely successful Songs About Jane. It’s been close to four years since the release of their last effort, but the album and its songs still have legs. |
We caught up with vocalist Adam Levine at the BMI Pop Awards last week and asked him about the progress of the next album. |
“Yeah. We’re writing and recording and compiling and experiencing and doing all the things and getting ready and starting to cut our chops again to get back on the road…” |
Levine also leveled with us and said that there is pressure to follow up Jane’s success. |
“Yeah, you feel that because you’re like, ‘Holy s–t. I wrote this song and it’s so famous and huge and everyone knows it, and they sing it at our shows. All you get on the street is, ‘I love that song.” You build this up as it’s this big thing. You can’t ignore that pressure, but at the same time you have to train yourself to forget about it so you can write a song that’s still sincere.” |
Maroon 5 still had three of the Top 50 songs performed last year including “She Will Be Loved,” and “Sunday Morning.” |
