MANDY MOORE EXPLORES MOTHER DAUGHTER RELATIONSHIP
Mandy Moore was attracted to the mother daughter dynamic in Because I Said So. |
Mandy Moore stars in Because I Said So as a successful caterer who doesn’t have the same degree of success in her love life. They say mother knows best and so her mom played by Diane Keaton sets off to find her a match. |
Mandy says she was attracted to the role because it explores the wondrous and complex relationship between mothers and daughters. |
“It’s just the ups and downs and the rollercoaster that is the mother daughter relationship. The mother daughter bond is unique and unlike any other relationship because it’s constantly evolving and I think moms see so much of themselves in their daughters and vice versa. That’s what makes it so completely complicated. It’s a case by case situation. Then I just think of my relationship with my mom and nobody gets me more than my mother and also nobody can drive me as insane as my mom can.” |
Mandy and her co-stars Piper Perabo and Lauren Graham formed a real sisterhood on the set which she treasured having brothers in her life. |
“We were girls. We were talking and gossiping about love and relationships and shopping and all of that stuff. I don’t have sisters; I have two brothers so I just completely immersed myself in the idea of having two surrogate sisters for two months and this amazing mother as well. I loved it.” |
Mandy is taking on her second love as a singer songwriter. She will be concentrating on promoting her new CD Wild Hope which she describes as folky pop. |
