MAINO INKS NEW DEAL WITH ATLANTIC RECORDS

Maino inks deal with Atlantic Records after leaving Universal Records…..

Brooklyn-based rapper Maino has bubbling on the underground scene for several years. The Lil Kim affiliate signed a deal with Universal Records in late 2005 but his debut project, Death Before Dishonor, was never released. Maino recently signed a deal with Atlantic Records thanks to a little help from rap mogul 50 Cent. the G-unit general called Atlantic Records CEO Craig Kallman to put in the good word for Maino.

Since signing with Atlantic, Maino has formed an alliance with T.I. and his Grand Hustle team. The rapper recently released a new single and video, “My Life Is A Movie” featuring Razah, BG, NORE, Jae Millz, and Uncle Murder.

“You got to work like, you have to work like you’re not even signed like you know what I mean? I come from that. I come from the mixtapes, the DVDs. I come from that. I come from the street. It’s the power of the street you’re witnessing right here. These people they know me. Universal ain’t did nothing yet. It’s the street.”

Maino’s success has been largely fueled by his presence on mixtapes and DVD magazines. The rapper and his Hustle Hard Team has blanketed the tri-state area with Maino’s music and posters.
