LUKE WILSON NOT HAPPY WITH RATS

Luke Wilson checks into Vacancy playing Kate Beckinsale’s husband who discovers the hotel manager is making slasher films of his guests.

Luke describes shooting the scene where he had to crawl through specially designed tunnels to escape.

“It was almost kind of fun in a way. They built these really cool tunnels with different kind of off shoots. It was a little claustrophobic but again it helped having Kate in there with me to not get as scared. We did a couple of days just going through the tunnels and a couple of days with the rats.”

Unfortunately Kate couldn’t ease the skeeviness of having to crawl through these tunnels filled with rodents.

“And it wasn’t as enjoyable with the rats. The days we were shooting that they’d have the rats kind of waiting outside the back of this pick-up. So you’d kind of be walking by each day waiting to do your scenes with them. That was a little gnarly but we managed to get through it.”

Luke’s next two projects The Wendell Baker Story and You Kill Me are comedies. The Wendell Baker Story unites Luke with his Bottle Rocket family, brothers Owen and Andrew who co-directed. Vacancy opens Friday in theaters.
