LUKE WILSON NOT HAPPY WITH RATS
Luke Wilson checks into Vacancy playing Kate Beckinsale’s husband who discovers the hotel manager is making slasher films of his guests. |
Luke describes shooting the scene where he had to crawl through specially designed tunnels to escape. |
“It was almost kind of fun in a way. They built these really cool tunnels with different kind of off shoots. It was a little claustrophobic but again it helped having Kate in there with me to not get as scared. We did a couple of days just going through the tunnels and a couple of days with the rats.” |
Unfortunately Kate couldn’t ease the skeeviness of having to crawl through these tunnels filled with rodents. |
“And it wasn’t as enjoyable with the rats. The days we were shooting that they’d have the rats kind of waiting outside the back of this pick-up. So you’d kind of be walking by each day waiting to do your scenes with them. That was a little gnarly but we managed to get through it.” |
Luke’s next two projects The Wendell Baker Story and You Kill Me are comedies. The Wendell Baker Story unites Luke with his Bottle Rocket family, brothers Owen and Andrew who co-directed. Vacancy opens Friday in theaters. |
