Rap veteran Luther “Uncle Luke” Campbell is going national with his Youth Football League. The program, developed in conjunction with the Orange Bowl Football Youth League (OBFYL), will run simultaneously with the rapper’s Liberty City Optimist Program. |
The Optimist Program is a mentorship effort founded to keep wayward boys out of trouble by offering academic assistance, positively reinforced activities and a state of the art computer lab. |
“We just finished out bylaws in Miami and I’m giving out charters around the country. Just give charters in different cities. A guy want to come in, ‘Hey Luke this is such and such. I want to sponsor my league in my city.’ We’ll give him a charter and give them a blueprint on how to start the organizition and the organizing process and let them become a member of the National Youth Football League.” |
Luke explained how he’s providing charters for the Youth Football League in various cities. He said, |
The league’s first season will begin Aug. 18 and run through Oct. 26 for boys age 5-15. |
