Jeremy Piven said that his favorite part of the show is eating at Japanese restaurant, Koi. |
Rapper and actor Ludacris is the man these days after starring in two Academy Award-winning films, Crash and Hustle & Flow, last year. The rapper is taking the back seat for his next project as he plays the role of the narrator in the new documentary, Heart Of The Game. The film, which hits theaters on June 9th, also stars Joyce Walker, Devon Crosby Helms, Maude Lepley, and Darnellia Russell. The documentary follows the real-life story of the Seattle girls’ high school basketball team the Roosevelt Roughriders, and one player’s struggle to maintain academic eligibility. |
Ludacris explained how he got involved with the project. He said, |
“They sent it to me because basically they had me in mind, you know particularly to voice and narrate this documentary. And I always did want to narrate something but that is not the only reason that I chose to narrate this particular documentary. I loved it when I saw it. I knew right away that this is a project that I wanted to be involved in. Not only to lend my voice to it but also do what ever I can with my celebrity to get people out there to watch it. I feel like it’s extremely important, very powerful, not only for just men to watch it but very particularly women, and young women to be exact.” |
The rapper added, |
“And I say that only because I feel like there a lot of issues with young women these days. You know in the year 2006, 2007, a lot of young women have self-confidence issues. They have a lot of self-esteem issues. I mean it’s all a part of growing up but at the same time this documentary right here teaches you so many different things. And it is for everybody but when young ladies watch it, I just think they’re gonna get a sense of self-confidence, and self-esteem and self-empowerment, so many different things.” |
Ludacris is currently working on a new album called Release Therapy which he plans to release this summer. |
