LL COOL J GETS DOWN WITH CHAPSTICK

Rapper and actor LL Cool J is in negotiations to represent Chapstick, according to Brand Week. The rapper is also in talks with several vitamin supplement companies to capitalize on his popularity in the fitness/training market due to the succes of his book LL Cool J’s Platinum Body. |
The new endorsement deals were initiated by his management company, Violator Management. CEO Chris Lighty said, “It’s an obvious fit. LL has been licking his lips for 20 years. They’ll get to speak to people who normally would not pick up Chapstick.” |
“I think that a lot of times, we as human beings and me included some us, we have a tendency to not want to believe that people sacrifice to attain things. And because of that it holds us back. Our unwillingness to go through pain and sacrifice in order to achieve our goals has a tendency to stunt our growth, you know what I’m sayin’? So I think people need to know I did it for real. It seems like as Americans and as human beings, we have a tendency to want to take shortcuts and that always doesn’t get us the results we want, you know? So sometimes you just got to no pain, no gain, you know I mean?” |
LL Cool J is currently putting the finishing touches on his new album, Exit 13, which will be executive produced by 50 Cent. The set is due out in May and will be the rapper’s last under his current contract with Def Jam Records. |
LL, who has worked hard to maintain his physique and skills on the mic, shared that sometimes people get caught up looking for shortcuts and forget that you have to sacrifice in order to get what you want. He said, |
