Little Brother’s 9th Wonder is set to release his solo album, Dream Merchant, this summer. The first single from the project will be a remake of “Crooklyn Dodgers,” a 1994 song from Spike Lee’s film Crooklyn, which featured Buckshot, Masta Ace, and Special Ed. |
The song was previously remade in 1995 by Chubb Rock, Jeru The Damaja, and O.C. with the help of DJ Premier and titled “The Return Of The Crooklyn Dodgers.” DJ Premier is also featured on 9th Wonder’s version as he provides the scratches. |
“Me and Joe Scudda used to sleep on the floor together. Me and Joe Scudda stayed in the same house and the house was very crowded. No homo and we used to sleep on the floor. He used to sleep upstairs and I used to sleep downstairs.” |
The latest version of the song is titled “Crooklyn Dodgers 3” and features Mos Def, Jean Grae, and Memphis Bleek. |
