North Carolina-based rap trio Little Brother aren’t you typical bling bling rappers. The group is very active when it comes to social issues and recently they spoke out against animal abuse and shared the secrets to their vegetarian lifestyle with PETAworld.com. Rapper Phonte explained how he gave up meat. He said, “I just tried going without meat for one week, and I loved the way I felt without it, so I never went back. Open your mind to exploring other options. Vegetarianism forces you to do that.” |
Big Pooh also had some choice words for people who don’t take care of their pets. He said, “If you’re not gonna take care of the dog or the cat the way it’s supposed to be treated, then don’t get it. Just like people don’t need to be abused, animals don’t need to be abused either.” |
“You know those images that we put out they go world wide, you know what I’m sayin’? Hip hop cats can’t no longer claim that you know, ‘Well I’m just rapping. I’m just doing me. I ain’t no role model.’ That’s bull. This music is raising kids man.” |
