LINKIN PARK TAPS RUBIN TO PRODUCE
Linkin Park will work with producer Rick Rubin for their third, still-untitled effort. Rubin is a change for the band, and the band’s word stylist Mike Shinoda will co-produce the effort. |
Backstage at the Grammy awards, the band revealed that they’re working with Rubin, whose credits include the Black Crowes, Slayer, and Red Hot Chili Peppers. |
“We actually have really big news that we announced just today. We chose a producer for our next record. We’re going to go with Rick Rubin. I guess I’m going to get a producing credit on there too. But that’s not as important as the fact that we’re going to go with Rick Rubin and the record is going to come out this year, probably late summer or soon thereafter.” |
Despite Shinoda being involved in Fort Minor, his side band, he said he’s already got tons of material for the next record, and the guys insist that the album will be a groundbreaking album and musical ground they’ve never covered. |
