LINKIN PARK NARROW SONG LIST FOR NEW ALBUM
Linkin Park, who are currently in the studio with Rick Rubin working on their much anticipated new album, have narrowed down their song list for the upcoming album from one hundred down to seventeen. |
We caught up with Mike Shinoda, who was debuting his original art work at Gallery 1988 in Los Angeles, to talk about the process of narrowing down the songs and where the band as at now. |
“We’ve narrowed it down from a hundred songs to thirty five and now we’re down to seventeen or eighteen. Narrowing the songs down is horrible because you always feel like your kicking your kids off a team because there’s not enough space on the field for them. But that’s what we do every time we make a record and we’re used to it. We have to do that to get things paired down because I don’t want to say perfectionistic [sic] because we know there’s no such thing but we definitely want the best for our records and we try to put in the work to get there.” |
Look for Linkin Park to have the new album released in 2007. The band has also announced they will be performing at The Bamboozle Festival in New Jersey on May 6th 2007. This is the only announced US appearance so far by the band and you can bet they will be showcasing new materical off the yet unnamed album. |
