LINKIN PARK EAGERLY AWAITING BUSTA RHYMES PROJEKT REV COLLAB
On the eve of 2008’s North American Projekt Revolution Tour, Mike Shinoda talks about his excitement to hit the road and share the stage with Busta |
Linkin Park are gearing up to kick off 2008’s Projekt Revolution Tour and as the bands gather for the first show July 16th in Mansfield, Ma, clearly this will be a once in a lifetime opportunity to see Linkin Park, Busta Rhymes, Chris Cornell, The Bravery, Ashes Divide, Atreyu and Street Drum Corps all on the same lineup. One of the many collaborations set to take place on this year’s tour and perhaps the most anticipated will be Busta Rhymes and Linkin Park sharing the stage for a version of Busta’s latest hit single ‘We Made It’ which features Linkin Park. |
We caught up with Linkin Park’s Mike Shinoda at the unveiling of his latest art creation ‘Glorious Excess’ to get his thoughts on how excited he is to not only hit the road with Busta Rhymes this summer but to share the stage with him as well. |
“One of the really great possibilities when we do a tour like Projekt Revolution, there’s a lot of great bands and we try to do stuff in one way or another with other artists if possible and we’ll see what happens as far as collaborating on stage. I don’t want to spoil any surprises but we’re crossing our fingers in hoping we can do some fun stuff with some of the other folks. Busta Rhymes, we obviously have that song with him and it’d be fantastic to do ‘We Made It’ onstage with Busta.” |
Mike also talked about keeping his creative juices flowing on tour while he continues to draw, paint and sketch as well as write new material from the inspiration he gathers on tour this summer. |
“We’re on tour right now. We are leaving, I’m actually leaving in the morning, in a few hours to go out to Canada and start Projekt Revolution this summer. I’m really excited about the tour. We got Chris Cornell and The Bravery and a lot of really big bands and we tour through the end of August. While I’m out there, doing some drawing, doing some sketching and writing a little music it doesn’t stop. I love to do both and it’s what I want to do in my spare time.” |
Projekt Revolution Tour dates extend until August 24th in Woodlands, Texas. Linkin Park will also look to gather inspiration during the tour in hopes of getting back into the studio in the very near future to record the follow up album to 2007’s hit ‘Minutes to Midnight.’ |
