Lil Wayne’s new album, Tha Carter II, was released on Tuesday, December 6th, and the rapper is poised to transform himself from southern rap star to rap royalty. In addition to the new album, Lil Wayne was named president of Cash Money Records earlier this year. The label’s roster includes Tateeze, Boo & Gotti, KeKe Wyatt, Lil’ Mo, Birdman, Mannie Fresh, and others. |
The rapper has also launched his own label, Young Money Entertainment, which will be distributed by Cash Money Records and Universal Records. The first release on the new label will be from former No Limit soldier Currency. |
“That decision was made by my pop, the Birdman. He saw how me and my crew get down, how me and my click, how we do what we do, he liked that. He pulled me to the side and said, ‘Ya’ll real tight.
