LIL MAMA UPLIFTING THE YOUTH THROUGH MUSIC

Brooklyn-based teen rapper Lil Mama will release her debut album, V.Y.P. (Voice of the Young People), this summer. The set will feature production from Scram Jones, Swizz Beatz, and Dame Grease. The first single from the project is “Lip Gloss.”

The seventeen year-old rapper recently shared that she wants to uplift th eyouth. Lil Mama said,

“I definitely feel like I’m using music as a tool to uplift the youth because there’s so much negativity. And there’s so much music out there already that can make a woman feel low, that can make a man feel low. And they try to make it seem like it’s a side battle. It’s not about a side. We all people and we all have the same value. So when you hear good music and you know that somebody is coming froma real perspective, you gonna be able to relate to it whether you’re male or female, eight or eighty.”
