LIL JON WINS SONGWRITER OF THE YEAR, DISCUSSES NEW ALBUM

LIL Jon was recently named songwriter of the year at the Broadcast Music, Inc. (BMI) Pop Awards. The award was the third time Jon was recognized by BMI and the second consecutive time he was named songwriter of the year. Lil Jon’s 2005 hits include: “Lovers and Friends” featuring Ludacris and Usher, Ciara’s “Goodies” and Ying Yang Twins’ “Salt Shaker.” |
Jon shared his thoughts on winning the songwriter of the year award. He said, |
“I guess it’s kind of special you know because most of the time we just go in the studio and we kinda have fun and just try to do our thing. When it becomes a hit record and, you know, you get recognized for awards and it starts to blow up I mean it’s amazing cause we just having fun, you know what I mean? We just doing what we like to do.” |
Jazze Pha, Pharrell Williams, and Will.I.Am were also honored by BMI.. |
Lil Jon is currently working on a new album, Crunk Rock. The first single from the new album is “Snap Yo Fingers” featuring E-40 and Sean Paul of the YoungBloodz. |
