LIFEHOUSE GOES GOLD

Lifehouse’s self-titled record, the band’s latest, has been certified gold for sales of 500,000 copies as certified by the Recording Industry Association of America. The success is due in part to their hit single, “You And Me.” |
After the commercial disappointment with Lifehouse’s second album, Stanley Climbfall, singer/songwriter Jason Wade decided something needed to be done. At the time he was between record company contracts and was still haunted by the large ghost of 2001’s smash hit, “Hanging By A Moment.” Wade said that he had to wipe the slate clean, and get a fresh start. |
“Getting a different producer. That was vital too. We had John Alagia who produced Jason Mraz, John Mayer and some Dave Matthews stuff. He’s on the east coast and we’ve always had west coast producers. We’ve always been kind of like an L.A. band I guess. So, the whole concept for this record was to put no pressure to write hit singles. Me and Rick talked about it, and we were like, ‘Let’s just go out and get inspired again and just be kids making music. Because that’s where we started off. And when you have no pressure on you, I feel that’s when you make your best music. So we basically went to eastern Maryland, lived at his house for about a month-and-a-half and we ended up with this record that we’re really, really, proud of and happy with. So it was a really inpiring time.” |
Lifehouse’s debut album, No Name Face, was certified double platinum for sales of two million copies. Meanwhile, the band has released its first DVD titled, Everything, and it spans Lifehouse’s career to date. |
